Loyalty of a Friend

I was sent this today, I thought others may benefit from it!

THE LOYALTY OF A FRIENDJOB 6: 14

Years ago football coach Pepper Rogers was having a tough season at UCLA. Everyone was down on him; the media, the administration, the alumni, the fans -- even his coaching staff and players weren't giving him the support he needed.
One evening, feeling sorry for himself after a disagreement with his wife, he told her that his only friend was his dog. "That's not right," he said. "A man should have at least two friends."
So the next day she went out and bought him another dog.
Job made an interesting comment. He said, "A despairing man should have the devotion of his friends even though he forsakes the fear of the Almighty." (Job 6:14)
Even though he forsakes the fear of the Almighty. When a friend gets that foolish is usually when we look to make our exit -- it's the fear of lightning bolts and guilt by association. But this is the time our friends need us most. Our loyalty during their darkest days often helps them find their way back to the light.
Solomon said, "A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity." (Proverbs 17:17)
We need to remember that friendship is an around the clock commitment. Here are a couple of things to consider.
• Take a moment to think of your closest friends. Tell yourself (and tell them, if you need to) "As long as I have anything to do about it, this friend will never again feel all alone."
• If you don't have this kind of friendship connection with anyone right now, you need it. It's not because you need to receive this kind of loyalty. It's because, in order to become a mature follower of Jesus, you need the opportunity to show this kind of loyalty. Ask God to bring deep friendships into your life.
It's been said that friendship between two requires the patience of one. If that's true, let's commit to being the one.

Today I can feel sad that I don't have more money or I can be glad that my finances encourage me to plan my purchases wisely and guide me away from waste.

Today I can lament over all that my parents didn't give me when I was growing up or I can feel grateful that they allowed me to be born.

Coming to the end of another day, I thought I would post this poem I came across. It is a lovely reminder that what ever we are worried about, care about infact whatever is on our hearts all we have to do is give it all over to God (Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37 v 4).

After coming home from work having had "one of those days", I came across the following and thought I would post it here for anyone else who might of had "one of those days". Maybe if I had come across it at the start of the day rather than the end the day might of been better .... (Hindsight is a wonderful thing!)
